The Master’s Program is a flexible, individually tailored program for Pilates instructors who desire to continue their professional development and dive deeper to advance their skills and further evolve their teaching practices. Students have up to three years to complete 116 hours of advanced course work and optional mentorship hours, at which time they receive The Pilates Center Master’s Program Certificate of Completion.

Enrollment Requirements

Eligibility for the Master’s Program, an interested student must have completed one of the following requirements.

  1. Graduated from any of TPC’s Teacher Training Programs
  2. Graduated from a comprehensive 450 hours teacher training program
  3. PMA-CPT
  4. Teaching for six months post-graduation from the above programs.

Completion Requirements

Total of 116 Master’s Program workshops: these workshops must be TPC – MP approved. There are two different options to choose from.

Option 1: Formal Lectures 60 hours combined with 56 MP Workshops hours
  1. Formal Lecture Series 60 hours: can be completed either live, online, or a combination of the two. Please see TPC website for dates and locations of live lectures.
  2. Master’s Program workshops 56 hours
  3. Completion Essay Paper
Option 2: Formal Lectures 60 hours combined with 36 MP Workshops hours and 20 Mentorship hours
  1. Formal Lecture Series 60 hours: can be completed either live, online, or a combination of the two. Please see TPC website for dates and locations of live lectures.
  2. Combination of 36 hours of MP Workshops (these must be approved by TPC as MP workshops) and 20 hours of Mentorship equally 7 Observation hours, 7 Lesson (classes and/or privates), and 6 Observed Teaching and/or Teaching Skills Classes (offered at TPC). These mentorship hours can be completed with any TPC Licensed Teacher Trainer.
  3. Completion Essay Paper
Mentorship Hours Option:

Master’s Program students have the option to complete 20 mentorship hours. These hours need to be distributed evening between Observation, Lessons, and Observed Teaching.

  1. Observation Hours: Seven Observation hours must be completed at The Pilates Center or with a LTT (listed on TPC’s website). It is the student’s responsibility to track these hours and turn them in at the end of their program. Refer to Observation Protocol when observing at TPC.
  2. Lesson Hours: Seven Lesson hours must be completed at The Pilates Center or with a LTT (listed on TPC’s website). These hours can be a mixture of classes and privates. It is the student’s responsibility to track these hours and turn them in at the end of their program.
  3. Teaching Hours: Six Observed Teaching hours must be completed at The Pilates Center or with a LTT (listed on TPC’s website). These hours can be a mixture of Observed Teaching appointments and Teaching Skills classes. Observed Teaching is an appointment where the MP student teaches a client in front of a TPC staff teacher or a LTT to receive feedback. Teaching Skills classes are offered at TPC. These classes are instructed by a TPC staff teacher that is working with teachers and trainees to identify teaching skills. It is the student’s responsibility to track these hours and turn them in at the end of their program.
