Utilizing the Archival Exercises to Build Upper Body Power

In this powerful workshop, we will explore archival Pilates exercises from TPC’s “Lost Treasures” presentation that specifically develop upper body strength.  We will explore where and what the missing links are for most of us in our upper bodies and how we can focus on increasing strength in these areas while doing our Pilates work.  You will learn new exercises as well as learn how to apply them and the insights gained through them to the classical choreography of the Pilates Method.

Instructor Bio

Kelli Burkhalter Hutchins’ unique perspective when teaching Pilates comes from early exposure to the world of fitness and from being a competitive swimmer who was skilled enough to participate in the Jr. Olympics. She discovered classical Pilates in 2002 and became so passionate about the method that she enrolled in The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program. After receiving her diploma in 2005, Kelli began teaching at The Pilates Center where she continues to work as an instructor. She is a Master’s Program Presenter, Examiner at TPC, and PMA certified. Kelli is the Director of Education for all of The Pilates Center’s educational programs. She is skilled as a comprehensive instructor on all equipment but has earned a noteworthy reputation for her “killer” chair classes and expertise in working with the upper body. Kelli has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado and continues to broaden her Pilates knowledge by mentoring with master teachers Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel.
