Workshop Schedule
Boney Landmarks – Amy Taylor Alpers
Wednesday, September 16th – 12:00 – 12:50 pm
Discover the bony landmarks that form the foundation of movement and confident teaching. In this practical, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to identify key bones through palpation, movement, and observation, gaining a clearer understanding of anatomy and how it supports efficient movement, alignment, and the Pilates principle of Uniform Development. Leave with practical skills and greater confidence you can apply immediately in your teaching.

Leveling Workshop – Kaile Ziemba
Wednesday, September 16th 1:00 – 1:50 pm
Do you find it challenging to level up your Pilates with ease? Have you or your clients plateaued at a certain level and want more from your Pilates practice? Being able to do higher level exercises reflects that we are closer to uniform development. In this workshop we will re-evaluate how and when to use modifications. We will assure we are not modifying unknowingly or too often. This will increase our strength and mobility to better organize our bodies and achieve our full potential.

Transitions Workshop – Kelli Burkhalter Hutchins
Wednesday, September 16th 3:00 – 4:50 pm
Transitions are an essential part of the Pilates Method, connecting each exercise to the next and helping create a complete experience for the mover. In this workshop, we’ll explore transitions on both the Mat and Reformer, learning the direct transitions between exercises and how they support the flow of the classical order. When the workout moves continuously from one exercise to the next, the transitions themselves become part of the work, helping to build strength and endurance.

Performance Prep – Kelli Burkhalter Hutchins & Kaile Ziemba
Thursday, September 17th 8:00 – 8:50 am
Prepare for both components of the examination process with this focused session covering Performance and Practical Exams across all programs. Learn what examiners are looking for when demonstrating exercises in the Performance Exam and when teaching and applying your knowledge in the Practical Exam. Kelli and Kaile will review expectations, assessment criteria, common mistakes, and effective preparation strategies to help you approach both exams with clarity, confidence, and a plan for success.

Group Teaching – Kelli Burkhalter Hutchins
Thursday, September 17th 9:00-9:50 am
Much of your training at The Pilates Center focuses on one-on-one teaching, where you develop your ability to observe and respond to the individual in front of you. In this workshop, we’ll explore strategies for teaching groups while staying connected to each person in the room. You’ll learn how to organize a class, manage transitions, and make effective teaching choices while working with multiple students at once.

Open Gym – Jackie
Thursday, September 17th 12:00 – 12:50pm
Open Gym Hour offers dedicated time to practice, explore, and connect. Use this hour to work on your own Pilates practice, practice teaching with fellow trainees, spend time on equipment you may not have access to regularly, or take time to practice and explore concepts introduced throughout the weekend.
A Teaching Skills Monitor will be present to answer questions and support the space, but the hour is intended for self-directed practice rather than formal instruction. We hope this time encourages continued learning, meaningful connections, and a stronger sense of community among trainees.

3 Exercises on 3 Different Apparatus – Kaile Ziemba
Friday, September 18th 4:00 – 5:50 pm
The incredibly intuitive design of Pilates lies in the fact that it’s a method—a system built with intention and purpose. In this workshop, we’ll compare and contrast the same exercise across three different pieces of equipment.
Through this exploration, we’ll discuss why one version might serve your client better than another and how each apparatus offers unique feedback. By deepening your understanding of how to use the method—rather than working around it—you’ll discover that you don’t have to modify as often.
The more clearly you see the method, the more directly your clients can access the full benefits of each exercise.

The Knee Bone’s Connected to the Hip Bone
Saturday, September 19th 12:00-2:50pm
It’s true – they are very connected to each other. It’s hard to isolate their jobs, or their muscles. And the timing of the pattern of muscle/bone movements is often extremely challenged because of our lifestyle. The constant sitting down and standing up from a chair that we do today, can readily set up a poor timing sequence in these joints. The knee and hip are naturally designed better to fold into and out of a squat instead of a chair.
In this 3-hour workshop we will look at how the knee and hip are tied together, and both vulnerable to injury and chronic wear and tear – witness the vast number of replacements we see. Let’s remind our clients of the healthy, natural design of these joints and help them live a stronger, more powerful life.
