Biography
I graduated the Pilates Center in June 2011. I’ve been teaching the Pilates method for over 10 years. I became interested in Pilates due to injury. I immediately feel in love with the technique. After practicing my own Pilates for a few years, my teacher Karen Richardson (also a Pliates Center Graduate) recommended I become a teacher. My first teacher training program was with the Pilates Institute of Southern California. After graduation I started teaching at a health club in the South Bay and Vital Balance Pilates in Redondo Beach. My joy in sharing my knowledge and in helping my clients find their own personal balance, kept me yearning for more knowledge. I went on to get my certification from the Pilates Center. I continue to take workshops and study with different teachers to enable me to give the most of myself to my client’s. I believe it is an honor to help my clients, whether they come to see me due to injury or they just want a more balanced body and lifestyle. As Joseph said “you are only as old as your spine is flexible”. Of course, he also said Pilates is about the combination of mind, body and spirit. How right he was!!!

Biography
Sam has been studying and practicing the Pilates Method since her first introduction in 2003; as a contemporary ballet dancer she originally sought out Pilates to “get taller” and while it hasn’t increased her height per-se, it’s kept her spine supple and strong, and living life with spontaneous zest and pleasure! As a dancer Sam used Pilates to prevent and recover from injuries, and she continues to practice Pilates to remain pain free and support her love of the outdoors. You can find her teaching at Embody Pilates in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, and in the summer months trying to do the Advanced Mat work on a paddle board (only somewhat successfully!) Sam is a graduate from the Advanced Teacher Training program from The Pilates Center and for her it’s a joy to witness clients feeling the deep sense of accomplishment through such a demanding method. The rigour and discipline reminds her of the systematic and intelligent progression of exercises often found in dance training. A recent transplant to Canmore, Alberta, Canada (just outside Banff National Park) Sam has taught in California, Vancouver, and at Kalijo Pilates, the only studio in Canada that offers the Classical Pilates Instruction Certification from The Pilates Center, from Boulder, Colorado.
