Karina grew up in Newport Beach, CA. Living in a sunny beach town was conducive to leading a healthy lifestyle involving fitness. In 1993 Karina became a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer while working full time as an Industrial Real Estate Manager, but her heart was always invested in teaching. After starting a family, she decided to take on fitness full time. She founded 10/60 Sweat, her own high-intensity training program. She also continued to teach spin cycling and strength training. As her family grew and was relocated to Europe in 2010, Karina’s workouts became baby-and-me sessions for both her and the private training clients that she began to take on. The family relocated to Boston in 2016 when her youngest was 3 months old. Karina was inspired to dive back into all areas of teaching fitness and functional movement. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2017, followed by Prenatal Yoga training and began teaching once again for various studios and also personal training in Belmont, MA at Everybody Pilates Studio. This is where she discovered Pilates and soon after began the Classical Advanced Training with The Pilates Center. Pilates training transitioned quickly because of injuries to her back, pelvis and legs. Instead of just learning a new modality, she realized that she was in fact rehabilitating her own body. She now teaches this magical movement out of her home studio in Watertown, MA

Ms Emily will give you the opportunity to learn a comprehensive Pilates program (exclusively using Gratz Pilates equipment), while educating you further about your mind-body connection. Classical Pilates can help sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds, but Ms Emily is able to customize programs for each client due to her mature perspective on movement inside and outside the body, empowering a variety of clients.
Before her Pilates career began, Ms Emily completed her B.S.B.A. in Hotel Management and B.A. in Studio Art at Berea College in Berea, KY. Her love for movement and the efficiency of the human body was established early on in life through sports and cooking. Her desire to learn more about health and fitness continued after college. She passionately worked for Standard Process (a company committed to providing the safest, highest quality dietary supplements), then she became an I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, a NCPT, and a JFB MFR® Practitioner.
Ms Emily was privileged to achieve her Advanced Teacher Training diploma through The Pilates Center’s world renowned Advanced Teacher Training Program with master Pilates teacher Samantha Walley in Redondo Beach, CA. She continued her studies in Pilates and gained a Master’s diploma through The Pilates Center’s Master’s Program studying with master Pilates teachers The Taylor Sisters (who received their Pilates training in New York City at the original Pilates Studio and were certified as teachers by Romana Kryzanowska, heir to the classical tradition of Joseph Pilates), Debora Robinson Kolwey, Kelli Burkhalter Hutchins, Kaile Larson Ziemba, Leah Wecksler, April Ingham, and Kelly Smith in Boulder, CO.
Ms Emily actively pursues continuing Pilates education by attending annual conferences and workshops with some of the world’s leading teachers, including: Jay Grimes (student of Joe Pilates and Clara Pilates), Chris Robinson, and Kathi Ross-Nash.
She is a NCPT and TPC Host Advisor. Today, Ms Emily continues her studies of movement through the TPC Graduate Mentoring Program, JFB MFR® Seminars and I-ACT Colon Hydrotherapy Summit.

Brittany found Pilates her senior year of college after making a conscious commitment to take care of her body and address pain from her scoliosis. She began taking classes at her school’s campus recreation center and fell in love with the movement, energy, and focus the practice brought to her everyday life. For the past 11 years, she has been practicing both contemporary and classical Pilates. No matter the city she lived in, Pilates has remained a steady, joyful presence in her life.
I graduated from the Advanced Pilates Teacher Training Program under Erika Groff and Susanne Staehr at The Pilates Workshop in January 2021. The classical work has provided a vital foundation by which I can explore movement and breath. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and feeding my curiosity about the body.
I am so excited to share this powerful practice with others and believe that bringing daily, conscious movement into our lives is vital to building a healthy and fulfilled self.
When not in the studio, you can find Brittany hiking, camping, attending theatre or exploring new cooking recipes.
