Meet Leigh Reece:
Leigh is a Host Advisor for TPC and recently completed TPC’s Post Graduate Studies Program with a focus on young athletes and performance. In fact, her “PRE-Formance” Pilates program is being used by coaches and teams to help athletes perform in optimal health, integrity, and efficiency. Leigh owns Pure Pilates Body in Oklahoma City and credits Pilates for healing her body, relieving her pain, and changing her perception of exercise.
“I am so thankful for my experience in the TPC Post Graduate program. The process invited me to explore Pilates in new ways for myself in order to develop my thesis and work through my project. The guidance I received from Amy was invaluable in the support, collaboration, direction, and resources. Sharing this experience with the other PG students and watching their projects unfold was equally significant. To see the vast application of Pilates was inspiring. I gained confidence in my perspective on the Method and very much came into my
adulthood as a teacher through the PG program. I very highly recommend the program!” Learn more about Leigh’s journey and find out more about her Pilates studio here.
Meet Kelley Pico:
Kelley is a Host Advisor for TPC and has completed TPC’s Post Graduate Studies Program. Not only is she a part of the TPC team, but she also owns Moondust Pilates in Colorado.
“The Pilates Center Post Graduate Studies Program allowed me to research and apply my findings to the body in front of me. I had no idea what I would find, but I trusted myself, the process, and the Taylor Sisters. I believe I was catapulted 10 years beyond my teaching experience upon completion! I researched the eyes using The Joseph Pilates Eye Chart and was honored to teach three concussed clients—a client with Stage 4 Ganglia Cell Cancer, a client with a Vestibular Tumor, and a client with Vertigo. I’ve also taught healthy athletes how to achieve better hand-eye coordination as well as scanning. One very special client wanted to play basketball better, and with the help of his lovely family, as well as his commitment and endurance, he was able to reach his goal before he was taken from us. I was also able to present a 2-hour Workshop knowing it could easily evolve into an 8-hour Workshop, and l’m grateful for the colleagues I did this with. Our synergy and camaraderie alone were a reason to do this program, as well as the knowledge that was passed down from Amy and Rachel. Teaching experience is a gift I wish we all could have, and I’m honored to have been the first class to graduate this program. If you feel you have gaps in teaching, I invite you to reach another level!” Learn more about Kelley’s journey here and her work at Moondust Pilates.
Meet Jenny Jennings:
Jenny is a TPC graduate as well as owns and operates Alota Pilates in Minnesota. In addition to completing TPC’s Post Graduate Studies Program, she also continues her education with yearly workshops at our Boulder, Colorado studio.
“I love to learn. I loved having the opportunity to focus on the interests within the TCP Post Graduate Studies Program. Having Rachel as my guide and mentor was truly an amazing experience. She was curious with me, pushed me to think deeper, questioned me when I was off track, and was always supportive. Within the Post Grad group, we offered each other feedback and encouragement throughout the program. Although we were sidelined with the Covid Epidemic, I was able to present my project at the 30-year celebration. I have also created a 4-week course for my clients, and students presented virtually. I am very proud of my work and honored to be part of The Pilates Center Post Graduate Studies Program.” Learn more about Jenny’s journey and find out more about her Pilates studio here.
Meet Laura Porter Blackburn:
Laura is a TPC graduate, Licensed Teacher Trainer, and owns Core Fluency Pilates in Kentucky. Her studio is a Host Studio for TPC, and Laura completed TPC’s Master’s Program and Post Graduate Studies Program to study Balance in the Pelvis from the Feet Up.
“TPC’s Post Graduate Studies Program enabled me, as a TPC grad and studio owner, to set aside time to delve deeper into an area I’ve been wanting to explore but didn’t quite have the structure to do it. I created Post Grad privates with a few clients as mini-case studies, and I gained insight through the mentor OTs and the mini-presentations with feedback from my Post Grad group. It was great for me to culminate in a 2-hour workshop! PG is especially fun to do with a small group of colleagues: I still feel close to my group. Get a few friends together and join!” Learn more about Laura’s journey and find out more about her Pilates studio here.
