At The Pilates Center, we want to empower people to transform their health through Pilates.
And we love hearing from our TPC graduates about how they’re continuing their Pilates journeys and carrying out this work in their communities.
Today, we want to highlight three graduates and Host Advisors for TPC, who are sharing their love for Pilates with their communities in Missouri and Arizona.
Meet Heather Epperly:
Heather is a Host Advisor for TPC and the founder of Pilates & Custom Fitness in Missouri. As a TPC graduate, Heather continues to work with the Center’s Host Advisor Program to assist students in becoming certified Pilates instructors. She is also sought after by St. Louis-area coaches, physicians, physical therapists, and other trainers for the expertise she provides and the results she helps clients attain. “Pilates offers an amazing alignment practice to help clients keep doing all of the activities they love to do best at any age.” And just as much as she loves teaching Pilates, she also enjoys competing with her United States Tennis Association (USTA) and coaching for improved sports performance in golf and tennis. Meet Jill Eisma:
Jill is a Host Advisor for TPC and recently hosted Amy Taylor Alpers, in partnership with Strength-n-Length Pilates in Arizona. Jill believes in teaching a compassionate experience through Classical Pilates at her Sundial Pilates studio and has seen how after a few short months of practicing Pilates, clients can go to the gym or run again. She loves helping clients get back to feeling good in their bodies so they can pick up their children or simply bend down to tie their shoes. Jill helps clients enhance their day-to-day lives through the power of Pilates.
“I have always been drawn to activities that develop strength and balance through movement. After years of dance, I found myself dealing with chronic pain and back problems that kept me from doing activities I loved, and that’s when I discovered Pilates! It quickly became a way for me to build strength, balance, and a supple body, which were all key to resolving the pain I was experiencing daily. Through the years I have been lucky enough to work with a range of masterful teachers. They all helped me realize the journey I wanted to take and the instructor I wanted to become. With their guidance, I became a third-generation Pilates instructor through the world-renowned Pilates Center of Boulder. I love Pilates not only because it has helped me but because I have seen the positive effects it has had on friends and other practitioners throughout the years. It makes us step back and focus on the key elements of movement and strength.” Learn more about Jill’s journey and find out more about her Pilates studio here.
Meet Brenda Nealy:
Brenda is the owner of Strength-n-Length Pilates in Arizona and recently partnered with Sundial Pilates to host Amy Taylor Alpers. “I am a native of Minnesota but have lived in Phoenix, Arizona for the past 17 years, and I have been teaching Pilates for the past 23 years. Prior to Pilates, I had pursued an earlier career in Physical Therapy. This is where I was first introduced to Pilates and I saw the benefits Pilates offered in creating balance in the body as well as focusing on the whole body. In 2017, I left the PT clinic I was at and opened my own Pilates studio. Because of my PT background, I have focused primarily on private lessons.” Learn more about Brenda’s journey and find out more about her Pilates studio here.
About The Pilates Center
The Pilates Center was founded in Boulder in 1990 by sisters Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel. The sisters trained under Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé and inheritor of his NYC studio. Amy and Rachel have worked to foster the legacy and tradition of the original, classical method of Pilates while also incorporating a humanistic approach to meet every individual’s needs. For over 30 years, they have made it their mission to heal the world by empowering people to transform their health and Return to Life through Pilates.
