The Pilates Center has grown thanks to the support of our amazing community in Boulder, and worldwide! We can’t wait to celebrate the incredible reach of The Pilates Center, as well as the impact Pilates is making worldwide in Teaching Peace each and every day.
Since Amy Taylor Alpers & Rachel Taylor Segel started The Pilates Center in 1990, through the ups and downs and changing times one thing has stayed the same; the mission. “Heal the world through healing the body.” It’s what Joseph Pilates wanted for the world and his legacy continues today through The Pilates Center.
Join us November 3-5 as Amy & Rachel host The 30++ Birthday Bash and begin again in-person sessions and group sessions at the studio located at 3127 28th Street in Boulder, as well as several surrounding locations.
About The Pilates Center
The Pilates Center was founded in Boulder in 1990 by sisters Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel. The sisters trained under Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé and inheritor of his studio in NYC. Amy and Rachel have striven to foster the legacy and tradition of the original, classical method of Pilates bringing to it a humanistic approach to each individual’s needs. For over 30 years they have made it their mission to heal the world by teaching Pilates, empowering people to transform their health and “Return to Life.” (The title of Joseph H. Pilates’ book)
The sisters have been industry leaders in creating standards for studios, teacher training programs, and industry organizations. Amy and Rachel wrote “The Everything Pilates Book”, the first overview of what Pilates is, what it does, its historical roots, and what to look for in a Pilates teacher and school. The Pilates Center offers private Pilates sessions, a full schedule of classes for beginner to advanced clients, as well as an internationally renowned Teacher Training Program.
