The Natural Progression to Advanced Pilates Exercises
All day long
10-06-17

Pilates teachers often find it difficult to progress their clients into the higher level Pilates exercises.  This is often because we continue to modify the exercises from Joseph Pilates’ original design and choreography.  By habitually performing the Mat and Universal Reformer exercises the same way each session we unknowingly create movement patterns that inhibit the normal, natural movement method that Joseph Pilates created.  In this workshop we will review Mat and Reformer exercises that are most often modified and what muscle imbalances are perpetuated by this.  We will also look at how specific exercises on optional pieces of equipment can help rid us of our movement habits and give our clients a more full bodied Pilates experience.
