Erica Walters is a southern California native, and has had a love for the outdoors since she can remember. Her enthusiasm for movement began when she stepped into her first gymnastics class at five years old, and continued as she excelled as a competitive gymnast, cheerleader, and swimmer throughout high school. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication and then began her Pilates studies in 2005.
Beginning with Peak Pilates was truly inspiring in introducing her to the classical method of Pilates, as well as giving her insight into teaching. Desiring more, in 2013, Erica furthered her education with the internationally renowned, Pilates Center of Boulder, where she received her Advanced Teacher Training certification, under Rachel Taylor Segal and Amy Taylor Alpers.
Erica is an accomplished instructor who has owned two Pilates studios, written a guest article for Pilates Style magazine in the Reader Platform, and was featured in fitness clips for Blink Energy Water in San Diego. She has taught classical Pilates to private clients, small groups, and in corporate settings in San Diego, Scottsdale, Dallas, and Oklahoma City. She was also an adjunct professor for the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at Oklahoma City University.
As a Pilates instructor, Erica is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of Joseph Pilates system of exercise by teaching Classical Pilates. She enjoys seeing the changes people can make in their bodies, and the wonderful feeling they get from performing the method. When teaching, Erica’s energy, passion, and personality make it easy to feel envious of her students, who benefit from her personal instruction.
Today, Erica lives in Louisville, KY, with her husband, son, and two dogs. She teaches at Core Fluency Pilates and out of her home studio.
